Cancer of various forms was in her family: The majority of her grandmother’s 16 siblings had also died of it and some of her grandfather’s family. By the time her illness was identified, the cancer had already advanced to an acute stage. She was told she had only months to live and to prepare herself for the inevitable. Robert Pirello, her now husband, would change her life forever. Robert, a whole foods advocate who’s mother died of a brain tumor, helped Christina change her lifestyle and diet based on healthy eating incorporating whole and unprocessed foods.
